The Prayer for the Martyrs is an integral part of each year’s IFTJ, grounding us in the very foundation of our gathering—the witness of the Jesuits and their companions martyred in El Salvador in 1989. We pray together as a community, remembering these six men and two women killed for their commitment to justice, and many other priests, religious sisters, and lay people who have lost their lives in service to “a faith that does justice."
