Humanizing One Another Through Restorative Justice

Rainer Harris, a student at Regis High School in New York City, explains the importance of restorative justice for racist offenses in Catholic schools, as written about in his piece published in The New York Times titled, “This Is the Casual Racism That I Face at My Elite High School.” He shares his experience of explicit and implicit racism in his years of Catholic schooling, and how Regis High School handled repercussions differently. He ultimately calls all schools to rethink the way they deal with and discipline racism.
