Information

The St. Joseph Worker Program is a one year volunteer experience for women who are passionate about social change. St. Joseph Workers (SJWs) commit to a year of service during which they delve into the core values of justice, leadership, spirituality, and living simply in an intentional community.

We work to match your passions with our placement site partners serving vulnerable/economically disadvantaged with many opportunities serving Spanish-speaking populations in social and community services, healthcare, education, public relations, advocacy and pastoral care.  We offer opportunities for spiritual growth, justice-based lobbying and activism, and networking to develop skills and confidence to make your mark on the world

Benefits include room and board, basic health insurance, in-program transportation, mentoring, personal and professional development training.  Depending on placement, education opportunities may also be available such as sponsored undergraduate course work, domestic violence certification or AmeriCorps education award, where eligible.

We are located in four cities: Los Angeles (CA), Orange (CA), St. Paul (MN) and Queens (NY). See below for more details on each location!
