Communications Volunteer

Volunteer Description Magis Americas seeks a Communications Volunteer to support the implementation of the organization’s strategic communications plan. The Volunteer will provide a wide range of communication, marketing, and general support to Magis Americas’ efforts to raise awareness about the work of the organization and our partners across Latin America, particularly in Venezuela, Haiti, and Central America. The Volunteer reports directly to the Executive Director and collaborates with the Communications Officer. The Volunteer will gain experience in communication, international development, and the day-to-day operations of a nonprofit. General Responsibilities - Assist the Communications Officer with management of social media accounts (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn). - Support in the development and design of digital, web, and print marketing materials. - Provide both technical and editorial website support, updating content, photo selection, and publishing news stories. - Assist in planning, writing and managing quarterly newsletter and monthly emails to segmented audiences. - Aid in the development of a news story calendar. - Provide support to all fundraising, communications, and global education citizenship campaigns. - Conduct research on Magis Americas’ priority areas (thematic + geographic), partners, and project updates. - Other tasks or projects as assigned by the Executive Director. Hours/Work Location This is a part-time volunteer opportunity. Given the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the Volunteer is expected to conduct their work remotely. Remote work hours must be conducted between 9am-5pm EST. Magis Americas is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
