Run. Walk. Fundraise. And Change a Life.
The coronavirus pandemic has shuttered the schools of International Samaritan’s scholarship students in five developing nations. These students are now required to keep up with their studies on-line from their homes, where many of them don’t have the technology they need to remain in school on-line.
We are running–and raising money–to equip 465 of International Samaritan’s scholarship students with the tablets they need to succeed in their studies.
How the Race Works.
Run or walk on your own, or organize or join a team of others, to help raise $140,000 needed for tablets for 465 students in Ethiopia, Guatemala, Honduras, Jamaica and Nicaragua.
We are asking everyone who takes part as an individual to commit to raising $300, or the cost of one tablet, in addition to their registration fee of $20.
We are asking every team to commit to raising $1,500, or the cost of five tablets, in addition to their registration fee of $20. Participants on a team can set their own fundraising goals at any amount, as long as the team together is committed to raising at least $1,500. There is no limit to how many people can be on a team.
This is a virtual race. You can run or walk your 5K anywhere in the world between October 15 and November 1.
Organizing a Team.
Schools, churches, businesses and families are invited to compete in teams of 5 or more people, with each team committing to collectively raise $1,500 to cover the cost of five tablets. Good-hearted team rivalries and interesting team challenges are encouraged and will be celebrated through social media.
