The work of JPHD is guided by U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops' Committees on International Justice and Peace, Domestic Justice and Human Development, the Ad Hoc Committee Against Racism, and the Subcommittee on the Catholic Campaign for Human Development.
This year marks the 50th anniversary of the Catholic Campaign for Human Development (CCHD)—that’s 50 years supporting initiatives that empower families, immigrants, new mothers, the elderly, and those in need. The organizations supported by CCHD have been working for decades to address the racial and economic disparities revealed by the COVID-19 pandemic. Now more than ever, as we look forward to the daunting task of rebuilding a society where all can thrive in the aftermath of a devastating pandemic and the ongoing call to dismantle racial injustice, the work of CCHD is vitally important.
