The Maryknoll Sisters are women religious missioners committed to the mission of Jesus and called to serve the poor, marginalized and oppressed, so that God’s love, peace and justice may be proclaimed, witnessed to, received, suffered for and celebrated throughout the world. As missioners, we cross geographic boundaries engaging and valuing diversities of cultures, races and faith traditions. We network with others to respond to the hungers and needs of the times: human trafficking, immigration issues, ecological concerns, spiritual hunger, reconciliation, peace and justice efforts. Maryknoll Missioners have served as the heart and hands of the U.S. Catholic Church's mission abroad for over 100 years. Inspired by the Gospel and in solidarity with people who have been marginalized, we strive -- as missionary priests, sisters, brothers and laity -- to meet needs while addressing root causes of poverty and violence. An important expression of our work is our Maryknoll Office of Global Concerns (MOGC). Through MOGC, we educate and encourage people of faith to use their voices as advocates for justice, peace and human dignity.
